The summer event known as Comic Con (San Diego Comic Con or Comic Con International) was last week. Without fail it was one of the hottest weeks to hold a widely attended event.
This year there weren’t any exclusives that I had to get, thank goodness, the line management for exclusive merchandise is just as bad as the panel lines. Seems like camping for comic con has just become a necessity, not for me!
I flew solo at Comic Con this year, this is the first time that I’ve done this, not that it can’t be done, but Comic Con for me has always been a group event. Before Comic Con blew up it was the thing we did in the summer while school was out, we’d call up friends and ask “what’re you doing? I dunno, nothing, wanna go to comic con?”
We’d get dropped off and pay for our one day ticket at the door, walk right in, and that was that.
Now Comic Con is an entirely different beast, getting a badge/admission is a whole other ball of wax.
Despite not having my usual buddies in tow, I had a blast this year. I was able to meet up with friends and believe it or not, run into people on the floor (that hasn’t happened in such a long time).
As always I got a preview of expensive items yet to be on sale;
