r.i.p. christine cavanaugh

Christine Cavanaugh died last week, December 22, 2014 to be precise. You might remember her best from Babe, Darkwing Duck, Rugrats, and Dexter’s Laboratory.

In the nineties Christine occupied most of the stuff I was watching, I mostly remember her from Darkwing Duck as Gosalyn Mallard and Chuckie Finster from Rugrats. Then I got to see what she actually looked like from an episode of Salute Your Shortsshe played park ranger Mona Tibbs. As soon as Mona spoke her first line of dialog I immediately recognized her. She then went on to appear in an episode of The X-Files “Small Potatoes.”

Those younger than me will also remember her voice work on various other shows; The Critic, Sonic The Hedgehog, 101 Dalmatians: The Series, Hercules: The Animated Series, The Powerpuff Girls, The Wild Thornberrys, Recess, Birdie in the McDonald‘s commercials, and then the announcer for The Disney Channel for the “coming up next” bumpers.

Look up her credits. She passed away at the age of 51 in Utah, no details have been released. Sad to see you go, your work will always be a part of my childhood, you made us all believe in a talking pig.
