r.i.p. don pardo

You may not know Don Pardo by name, but you’ll know his voice when you hear him. He’s the announcer who would introduce Saturday Night Live. He was the staff announcer on SNL for more than 60 years. He’s done many commercials for both radio and television. Don was also the one to announce in November 1963 that President John F. Kennedy had been assassinated.

Don’s voice has been with me every since I started watched SNL, I can’t imagine anyone else introducing the show. Sad to see you go sir, but you went at the ripe age of 96, passing away in your sleep on August 18, 2014, we all should be so lucky.
