The Expendables 3 is, you guessed it, the third installment in The Expendables franchise. This time we find our aging heroes up against one of their own. The returning cast members are; Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Joining us for the first time are; Wesley Snipes, Kelsey Grammer, Antonio Banderas, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Glen Powell, Victor Ortiz, Robert Davi, Mel Gibson, and Harrison Ford.
Not much to it here, there’s a mission, things don’t turn out the way they’re expected, and there’s a whole lotta bullets and gun fire.
The good; its seems that which each Expendables movie that comes out, they just keep getting better and better. The screen time amongst all these stars is equally shared. Along with the shared screen time comes the lines, the quips just keep firing from cast member to cast members, almost as much as the bullets.
The action is top notch, much better than most so-called “action films” these days. The Expendables films know how to cover an action scene as well as time them out properly. The climactic action scene in the third act had a lot going on, and I was impressed how they managed to cover the geography of what was going on and where.
The bad; why aren’t other action stars in here? These films look like so much fun, I wish some of these actors would put away their egos.
The Expendables 3 is pretty much a pop corn action flick… so why are people still seeing Michael Bay’s stuff? The Ninja Turtles “movie” was number one at the box office again?? Good job America.
Overall, you know exactly what you’re going to get – a good time. And Schwarzenegger says, “get to da’ choppa'” like three times in this movie, that alone is worth seeing… and hearing! So sit back, laugh it up and remember how fun the 80s action movies were, all of the destruction, but none of the baggage.
