I saw Thanks for Sharing with Mindy this weekend. It’s about addicts battling their addictions and how it affects their lives, in this case the addiction is sex.
Simple enough right?
The good; the actors, this is star power at its best because everyone in this film delivers. Gwyneth Paltrow, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Robbins, Josh Gad, and Pink (Alecia Moore).
There’s nothing new with the story, characters battle their inner demons and the people around them deal, or don’t deal, with it. But what’s great here is the actors playing the characters.
The emphasis of this film is on the characters, we know everyone’s motivations and struggles, and that’s what carries this movie.
The bad; the trailers are a tad misleading. This movie is far more drama driven that it is comedy driven. The trailer(s) will lead you to believe that there’s more comedy in this film, actually I think the trailer shows you all the funny moments. That’s not the movie that you’re going to get, just be warned.
Overall I recommend this movie. You don’t necessarily need to see this one in the theatres, it’s not special effects driven and the only explosions you get are emotional, so you can enjoy this film in the comfort of your own home. But if you feel so inclined, pay for the ticket stub and support this movie at the box office.
