my top two movies of 2012

I’ve tried to pick two movies out of the year that were my favorite.  One tends to be the movie I’ve viewed the most.  A lot of the times it’s the movie that I’ve paid to see more than once.  And the other movie is the one I had the most fun watching.
I’ve been thinking a lot about my top two movies of the past year, but this year it’ll come down to the numbers.

The 40 Year Old Virgin

Children of Men

Stranger Than Fiction

Hot Fuzz (4 times in the theatre)

Stardust (3 times in the theatre)

Henry Poole is Here

Role Models

The Good, The Bad, The Weird (this Korean Western deserves an honorable mention)

-2009 – (I had to pick three movies this year)

Gentlemen Broncos (multiple times on DVD)

The Hurt Locker

Hot Tub Time Machine

True Grit

Attack The Block

The Avengers (3 times in the theatre)

Wreck-It Ralph (2 in the theatre)

  1. Some of these I haven’t seen (e.g. Zathura), others I’ve heard good things about (Henry Poole), but Hot Tub Time Machine?? That was a pick of the year?? OK, I’ll grant it was a fun watch. 🙂

  2. Did you read my criteria? It’s a movie that I’ve watched more than once or that I had a lot of fun while watching. I’m just saying that I really really enjoyed these movies and that I own them on DVD. Agree or disagree, it’s up to you, hehe
